A pair of 6-panel Japanese screens from more than 100 years ago. Hand painted with ink, color, and gold on paper with Nihonga paintings, mounted with silk brocade border and framed with lacquered wood.
Each screen beautifully portrays a cherry blossom tree in full bloom, emerging from a landscape that fades into an ethereal background of gold dust mist. The delicate flowers on the tree were painted in white, with abstract gold clouds drifting in the foreground, blue and black birds scatting around, creating a tranquil and timeless scene.
