A pair of 6-panel Japanese screens from Taisho Year 13 (1925), exquisitely hand-painted with ink and color on silver leaf paper. Both of the artwork depict a vibrant bamboo forest in red, with birds scattered throughout. The artist’s inscription, signature and seals were on the upper right corner of right piece of the pair, while the left panel bears an additional signature and seal from the artist.
The red paint of bamboo seems to glow under light, creating a striking contrast against the cool silver background. This pairing makes a bold statement, offering a timeless yet contemporary aesthetic.
